For our cancer patients, we provide treatment for joint and soft tissue restrictions, which may occur as a result of reconstructive surgery or radiation treatment. We can also address problems associated with chemotherapy, for example, neuropathy and endurance issues.
Pulmonary Disease
Our patients with pulmonary disease also benefit from physical therapy. Muscular weakness occurs from illness-induced inactivity and certain medications which results in difficulty walking, transferring and negotiating steps and curbs. We teach strengthening exercises, breathing strategies and energy conservation techniques, while monitoring vital signs including oxygen saturation levels, to help promote a return to full function.
